Interview with Maryann Miller

Interviewed by Pamela Jaye Smith

Pamela Jaye Smith:  Maryann, how did you decide to hold a Roundtable conference on transforming consciousness?

Maryann – For our first project it seemed only natural that we would have a conference on transformation and consciousness and include, in that conference many different traditions and views on consciousness. I believe you’ve noticed the Roundtable presenters are a wide ranging group and we did not preconceive who those presenters would be.  We synchronistically found each other and it’s turned out to be far more than we could have ever planed consciously.

The conference is fabulous.  It’s so exciting to see how this diverse group of visionaries have come together and given a much larger picture to all of us as far as how we’re each working with consciousness.  We have a wide range, all the way from self-help to aero-space to myth, to the arts, media, and education; it’s fabulous.  One of the things that I am particularly enjoying about the conference is the variety.  In this conference, we see how you can take one subject into many different fields of endeavor and how we each apply that subject; and how, if we can stand together as a group and form a focused alignment, we can accomplish great things.  I think the audience has an opportunity to see how they can take this information into their own personal lives, in their own personal vocations, because they’re hearing about it from different aspects instead of hearing just one particular way of applying the information.

Pamela Jaye Smith: Tell me about the tag line for the Roundtable logo.

Maryann Miller – Our tag line: The Future of Consciousness – One World – Aligned Actions – Infinite Possibilities is a way for us to say a lot of things with a very few words.  Most of us have the same opinion of what those words mean.  It speaks to us of unity, of the possibility of building a world where we all work together, in our various diverse ways, to help heal the planet and uplift consciousness. It speaks to the power and impact we can have as an aligned group working to make the world a better place for all the kingdoms in nature. Aligned actions are very powerful and if we have a focused purpose and use that focused purpose with aligned actions, the possibilities truly do become infinite. That’s our goal. Our Roundtable team has aligned our thoughts and actions so that we can find the infinite possibilities that await us in doing our part in building a better world.

Pamela Jaye Smith: This conference is very different from most; you didn’t decide on a project until after the presenters were invited.

Maryann Miller –  Oh, we’re building new models aren’t we?  For example, take education; we have a conference and we all know we’re going to support, enlighten, and advance education in some way and we may be coming from many different areas but we all know we’re going to work on education and we all know that we have those individuals needed to create new models.

So this conference is very different.  This project is very different because we don’t have a model for this type of conference and one of the exciting things about this conference, in working with these Roundtable presenters and team, is that we are all willing to stand together as a team to surf the wind of possibility and come up with a project.  We came together without any particular focus except that we wanted to be of service and how to do that we had to discover together, ourselves.  And that’s difficult!  We’ve spent long hours.  We’ve spent – my gracious – we’ve spent countless hours trying to figure out how we’re going to do just that.

MeasuringSuccess

Our success is not measured by an end product; our success was, and is, that we were willing to come together; we were willing to embark upon the unknown and stay together while we tried to figure out what that unknown was. How many individuals or groups do you know that are willing to come together, and we’re talking about people of industry, people who have schedules that are so busy they don’t have time for lunch, and yet, they were willing to take the time to come together in numerous teleconferences.  These are people who have rearranged air flights, business meetings, trips, everything just to be here this weekend. Now how many people, in the category of our presenters, would so believe in building a new model that we can share with others, that they would take their time to come together and continue this work?  They have also committed to work together after this conference is over.  We all know we came together to make a difference. We all know that together, we would find out what it is that we are to do and can do, to bring a higher frequency of consciousness into all of our different areas and we’re committed to do that.  And because of that commitment, we’re going to stay together until we find out exactly how to do that.

Pamela Jaye Smith: It seems like the project that will come from this conference will be about raising consciousness in some way.

Maryann Miller – Right!  Our goal is to advance humanity’s consciousness.  We can link people together to accomplish great things and so one of the goals that we have, is this linking together of individuals and groups who will then go on to accomplish some of the great things that we accomplished here.  And in so doing, this web spreads.  It will become a global web, linked together of individuals who are like-minded, who, through their very diverse systems, avocations and vocations, go out and work to raise consciousness in their own ways.  If that happens, if we can accomplish that, The Institute for Global Transformation® has succeeded in its purpose.
